Biggis health care

We strive to provide you the highest quality of pet care available. We take responsibility for caring for your pets seriously. We understand that they are valued members of your family.

In order for us to do this we have placed the following policies.

For further advice consult your veterinarian.

Dogs

1. Vaccination Requirements:
Dogs are required to be current on the following:
  • Rabies,
  • Distemper,
  • Hepatitis,
  • Parvovirus,
  • Bordetella (Canine Cough),
  • Leptospirosis,
  • Lyme Disease Vaccination (Borrelia) (We recommend it, so that your dog with the beginning of time ticks (March till October) is largely protected.)

Last vaccination must have be done a minimum of 3 weeks before start of boarding.

2. All dogs must be in good health and have not been ill with a communicable disease within the past 30 days prior to boarding.
If dog require any medication while boarding, be sure all medication is properly labeled. Dogs who are on medication must be able to take medications easily.

3. All dogs must be non-aggressive.

4. No external parasites such as fleas, mites or lice

5. Active tick prevention
All dogs must be on an active tick prevention program (spot-on treatment) during the time of ticks (March till October).

Cats

1. Vaccination Requirements:
The minimum requirement for cats is:

  • Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis,
  • Panleukopenia (Feline distemper),
  • Rabies (if indoor/outdoor cat).

    Please contact your vet for more information about helpfull vaccination/test
  • FeLV or negative test result and
  • FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis).

Last vaccination must have be done a minimum of 3 weeks before start of boarding.

2. All cats must be in good health and have not been ill with a communicable disease within the past 30 days prior to boarding.
If cat require any medication while boarding, be sure all medication is properly labeled. Cats who are on medication must be able to take medications easily.

3. Male cats must be neutering.

4. Cats need to be wormed and de-flead within ohne weeks before arrival
Please present written verification from your veterinarian.

Rabbits

Rabbits need protection in the form of vaccinations against Myxomatosis, and
VHD (Viral Haemorrhagic Disease).

 

Other pets

For other small animals no vaccination required but veterinary health examination.
